Tree of Hope

Blog by Matt Carre | November 14th, 2013

November 14, 2013 marks the second anniversary of Matt's Dad's passing.  He passed away from pancreatic cancer.  For Matt and his family the whole experience was much more comfortable thanks to the Ian Anderson House in Oakville.  The Ian Anderson House is a hospice where family is made to feel welcome, patients are treated with dignity and respect and the goal of creating a loving environment is paramount.

Matt insisted we make a donation to the Ian Anderson House after his Dad passed away as a thank you.  It wasn't enough for him though, he wanted to make a difference for families in our community who are going through the same experience.  In June of 2012 Matt joined the Airdrie & District Hospice Society so he could help families the way he had been helped.

This year the Airdrie & District Hospice Society is launching their first major fundraiser, The Tree of Hope.

TREE OF HOPE

You Can Help Light Up The Tree Of Hope At Airdrie's Festival Of Lights!
A tribute to all those who enriched our lives and our community.

Bulbs will be lit in memory of loved ones who have passed on and as greetings of hope for those suffering.

Any amount donated will result in a bulb being lit, and the names of the loved ones you wish to honor will be acknowledged at the lighting service. The Tree will be lit throughout the month of December.

All Proceeds will be used to support the services provided by The Airdrie and District Hospice Society. Please visit www.airdriehospice.ca to donate.

LIGHTING SERVICE

A HUGE Thank You to The Rotary Club of Airdrie for covering the cost of the bulbs.
