On November 16 our Calgary Sotheby’s office is hosting a great event in support of STARS and the Alberta Arts Flood Rebuild Program. The event is call YYC Arts Event - Ripple Effect. I love the name they came up with, I think the phrase “ripple effect” is a great description of how both STARS and the arts effect our lives.
Having an ambulance support system like STARS Air Ambulance is huge and they have an incredible ripple effect when they help one individual in need. I don’t personally know anyone who has used STARS (I must admit I am grateful the need has never come up) but when you hear the stories of people who have, it’s hard not to spill a tear or two.
I’m also passionate about the arts and I am very grateful to those who bring beauty into our lives through so many different mediums. I think the support that has come from the community and organizations to help those affected by the flood is staggering and heart warming. I’m excited to be part of an event that is wanting to give back too.
Wanna come? As I mentioned the event is on November 16, it’s at the Glencoe Club downtown and goes from 7:30-11:30. There will be food, wine and live music. I can assure you that the music will be amazing. It’s the same band that played at the AIRdirondack Gala in Airdrie this year (that’s when we scooped them) and they were phenomenal (ha, I just spelt that word correctly on the first try, no red squiggles). There will also be a live and a silent auction. Word on the street is that the organizers have scored some incredible experiences (fast cars, jets...) for the live auction and there are great pieces of artwork from local artists in the silent auction. The tickets are $125 and with the limited space, advertising on radio stations and in the Calgary Herald it will sell out quickly. Matt and I are going, my Mum and Dad and a few friends as well. It should be a great night!
